• UNIT - III: Cognizance by police, charge, Bail, inquiries and Trial - General principles of fair trial, jurisdiction of the criminal courts in inquiries and trial (Section 197-222), complaints to Magistrates, Trial (Sec. 223-233), the charge, Joinder of charge (sec. 234-247), trial before a court of session (Sec. 248-260), trial of warrant-case by Magistrate (Sec. 261-273), trial of summons cases by Magistrates (Sec. 274-282), summary trials (Sect. 283-288), provisions as to bails and bonds (Sec. 478 to 496), provisions as to inquiries and trial (Sec. 307-378).
