Definition
An intra-court appeal heard by a Division Bench (two judges) of a chartered High Court against a judgment, decree, or final order delivered by a Single Judge of that same High Court exercising original or appellate jurisdiction.
Example
A writ petition filed by a university professor challenging termination is dismissed by a Single Judge of the Madras High Court; the professor files an LPA before a Division Bench of the Madras High Court.
