Definition
An interim criminal procedure mechanism in North Indian court practice where seized property (movables, vehicles) is released to a custodian ("Superdar") who executes a bond undertaking to produce the property before the court whenever summoned.
Example
A magistrate releases a seized delivery truck on superdari to a transport company upon the owner executing a personal bond of ₹10 lakh promising not to sell or modify the chassis pending trial.
