Definition
A statutory rule prohibiting a tenant of immovable property (or anyone claiming through them) from denying during the continuance of the tenancy that the landlord had title to the property at the beginning of the tenancy.
Example
In an eviction suit in Delhi, the tenant cannot resist eviction by raising a defense that the landlord acquired the flat using benami funds and is not the true owner, due to the statutory bar of Section 116 IEA.
